Back Again

Sorry for not blogging..it has been a crazy 4 months. We were in Louisville for the Derby, then went to W.Va for a month. This is our visiting family time. Then off to New Hampshire for the summer. We helped or I should say Howard did some work around our families' home. He also helped our cousin, Billy with bait. He's a lobsterman. YUM! While up there we visited Freeport, ME...guess what's up there. LL Bean. It is all over the town & really big stores. We only purchased a bike bag. Then we were off to Salem, MA to visit the Salem Witch Trial home. It was interesting place. We took a side trip to Glouctester, MA where the Perfect Storm was filmed & where it happened. They have a memorial there to the fishermen who lost their lives. Our next trip was to Bar Harbor, ME where we spent 2 nights. We stayed in a cute cabin. One day we bikes at Acadia National Park. Really need more time for this, it was beautiful there. After that we trekked to Prince Edward Island, Canada for 12 days. That is another story I'll post with pics in a few days. Right now we are back in W. VA till after Labor Day. Until next time..keep those tires rolling

Sunny Florida

I haven't blogged in a while. We have been in Florida since Jan. '11....We went to Disney Resort for 8 night...wow did we have a blast. Haven't been there in 34 yrs & yes things have changed. The Ft. Wildeness Campground was awesome. Didn't even use our truck to get around, they have a fantastic transporation system. We were able to watch the nightly fireworks from the campground beach. The fireworks @ Epcot were wonderful as we went there twice to see them. All Disney fun comes to a halt & we came to The Paradise Oaks Resort..we got a good monthly rate..we are here till Sunday April 3rd then off to St. Augustine. While here we've had a chance to visit with family. Learning how to play a card game called "31". We love to shop at Bells here..a great Florida store. Howard loves The Village. A wonderful retirement community of 70,000 people with 40,000 golfcarts..gotta watch them. It is only 30 min from us. Went with my cousin Denise & her husband this week to pick up their new 19ft Roadtrek motorhome. It is sweet. Sat we visited Howard's cousin, her brother/family whom he hasn't seen in over 40 yrs. A great visit...well until next time..keep those wheels rolling!

Warm Weather

We have been trying to get out of Louisville for the last 4 days..we finally we're able to get out Thursday. Now we are in Bushnell, Florida @ the Escapee Park We have a great spot & had a nice trip down. The last week we had 4 more inches of snow. It is nice to look at but not so nice to travel in. A few times it was down to 8 degrees..way too cold for this California Girl & Man! We had great visits with our families. We will be here till the end of March. Feb 10th we will finally get to Disney Ft. Wilderness for 7 days for our 40th anniversary. Boy where has the time gone. Glad we are enjoying the sunshine for now!!! Until next time..keep those tires rolling!

This is Retirement

We have had an interesting First 2 months of retirement. After we had arrived in Louisville we left the Tuesday after Thanksgiving for W.VA. It snowed there & we had a wonderful time, but when we arrived back to our RV our water manifold was froze & the water filter busted. Come to find out our heat didn't come on. WOE is us. We've had an RV repair person out trying to figure out what the problem is...there are 2 scenarios. Will leave out the details...but now we know what it is like to be w/o water for a few days. Hauling water in 1 gallon containers, but we were fortunate to be able to shower in the campground & at family's house. Am thankful for all the amenties that we have. We have enjoyed being with family. Visiting, playing games, out to lunch & just talking away. Will post some pics later. Till next time...keep those tires rolling!
